“ Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” --------- Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.
The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!” – Matthew 8:23-27
When we face turmoil and fearful times, we as believers have to lay hold of the truth that JESUS is the ONE whom the winds and waves obey. He is not shaken by the great “storms” we face around the world -- or in our own families. If we trust that God is the only Peace that will take us through those very real storms we face in our lives, then we will live in hope, not fear. ---- “God, increase our faith! Fill us with your living peace that our lives may declare that You alone are the Hope of the world!.”
This image was created out of a photo I took of broken, colored glass -- which I combined digitally with an acrylic painting I did. I loved how the two contrasting textures worked together to create this abstract of a stormy seascape.
