Description
When I designed this piece I wanted to depict what happened in the spiritual realm the moment Jesus died on the cross.
The red/orange side of the cross represents the curse of Satan, sin and hell to which we were all eternally bound prior to Jesus coming with no hope of escape. In contrast, the blue side of the image represents heaven and the glorious peace, love, and freedom offered to us the moment Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected from the grave!
Before Jesus came to the world and died on the cross, we had no choice in regards to our eternal destiny. We were all headed for hell a horrific existence with Satan as our king forever. However, the moment Jesus died on the cross, freedom and salvation were offered as a free gift to all who cried out to be released from Satans control. Jesus wants nothing more than to give us His gift of eternal life, but its not automatically ours unless we sincerely ask Him for it. And when we do ask Him to be our Savior, instantaneously we are set free! His love, acceptance and grace are poured out on us forever and ever! We become a new creation. Forever forgiven... and forever loved!
