One of God’s most compelling qualities is His ability and desire to breathe life and victory into what seems dead, destroyed and defeated in our lives. This was most poignantly exemplified when God took Jesus’ mutilated, lifeless body on the cross – miraculously raised Him from the dead – and crowned Him King and Savior of the world for all eternity! ------ God delights when we come to Him with our messed up lives and surrender “the damage” over to Him. He never looks at us and says, “You are too broken for Me to fix.” No, in fact, this is when God does His finest work. Amazingly, He meets us right where we are in our “mess” and supernaturally transforms our “ashes” into beauty and purpose. I can’t explain how He does it, but I know that He does... I’m living proof!
“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, ... to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair....” –
